The efficiency stabilizer for scintillation counters may be improved by changing the control signal from a neon tube glow to a signal prcduced by a controlled alpha flux acting on a phosphor. The suggested scheme stabilizes the source of the control signal, reduces the control pulse load, and reduces the pulse time to approximately 1 mu sec instead of 1 to 2 msec. (R.V.J.)
