SYMMETRY PROPERTIES OF STRONG AND WEAK INTERACTIONS

The TCP invariance theorem is presented, which states that a wide class of relativistic field theories is invariant under combined time reversal T, particle-antiparticle conjugation C, and space reflection or parity P. The symmetry properties associated with each of these transformations are studied. Invariance under these operations is shown to be dependent on the dynamics of the physical system. The consequences of T, C, and P transformations discussed for both strong and weak interactions. (T.F.H.)
