The chronic absorption of I/sup 131/ by the thyroid gland was measured. Experiments on rabbits show that the curve of radioicdine absorption by the thyroid gland in manifold daily introduction for a period of 30 days is of a threephase character. The highest concentration of the isotope, with the exception of the thyroid gland, is seen in the lungs, in the gall bladder bile, trachea, and kidneys. The lowest concentration is in the brain, spinal cord, and bone marrow. (auth)
