EFFECTS OF $gamma$-RAYS ON THE CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF COPPER OXIDES IN THE REACTION OF DEHYDROGENATION OF ETHYL ALCOHOL (in Russian)

The dependence of Cu/sub 2/O and CuO catalytic activity on radiation dose received is investigated in the dehydrogenation of ethyl alcohol. Irradiation induces an increase in CuO activity and a decrease in Cu/sub 2/O activity. Deuteroalcohol was produced to elucidate the mechanism of dehydrogenation. The isotopic composition of hydrogen produced in the dehydrogenation of this deuteroalcohol was studied. The measurements show the presence of a carbonyl mechanism, but do not exclude the enol one. Irradiation of the catalyst does not change the mechanism of the reaction. (auth)
