A device for remote position indication of suspected elements in a network being searched for irregularities is designed which is especially applicable to scanning detection of faulty fuel elements in gas-cooled reactors. In this device, a belt bearing the reference numbers of the elements in the network is set in motion when an irregulariiy is detected and stopped automatically to indicate the reference number of the faulty element in front of the operator. An embodiment of the device is described for a network of 96 ducts arranged in 24 bundles of 4 ducts each. (D.L.C.)
