An apparatus for removing radioactive liquids from elastomer-capped sampling bottles is designed wherein opening of the cap is avoided and venting of the bottles is provided. The apparatus comprises a shroud member for locating the bottle, a hollow piercing member for piercing the cap, and a draw-off tube movable into contact with the liquid through the piercing member with clearance for venting.
