A radiochemical method of determining a nmixture of glycine-C/sup 14/ and Ca/sup 45/Cl/sub 2/ in calcified tissues (bones and teeth) is described. The sample of calcified tissues is divided into two equal portions. One part is decalcified in a solution of hydrochloric acid: Ca/sup 45/ is withdrawn into the solution, while C/sup 14/ remains in the organic fraction of the tissue. The second portion of the sample is incinerated in a muffle-incinerator at 800 deg C: C/sup 14/ burns out, whereas Ca/sup 45/ remains in the ashes. (auth)
