HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP FOR A GAS AT HIGH TEMPERATURE

Local convective heat transfer coefficients and local and average friction factors were measured for N flowing through and electrically heated, smooth, round tubes. Data are reported for a range of Reynolds numbers from 1800 to 90,000, surface temperatures to 1455 deg F, gas temperatures to 780 deg F, and heat fluxes to 138,000 Btu/(hr)(sq ft). Results are graphically summarized. (J.R.D.)
