An apparatus for concentrating solutions of fissionable material is designed with means for inducing circulation. The apparatus conmprises a slab- shaped vessel with one dimension small enough to prevent criticality. The vessel volume is divided into two legs intereonnected by passages at top and bottom,. a liquid inlet and draw-off means opening into one leg and a heater associated with the other leg whereby convective circulation can be established between the two legs. A vapor outlet with means for disentrainment of liquid from the escaping vapor is provided above the liquid. The change in liquid concentration is monitored by pneumercator tubes. (D.L.C.)
