Linearized Theory of Conducting Two-Dimensional Gas Flow in Transverse Magnetic Field

Journal Article · · Journal of the Physical Society of Japan
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1143/JPSJ.17.686· OSTI ID:4831670
The interaction between the two-dimensional flow past a thin airfoil and the magnetic field perpendicular to the plane of flow is studied using the fundamental equations (S. Ando in J. Phys. Soc. Japan l5: l523(1960)). When the magnetic Reynolds number is infinite, the space current pattern is constructed using a stream function. When the magnetic interaction is weak, the situation is stmilar to that of the aligned field case except for the wake running rearward in the subsonic flow.
