In the testes of mice after percutaneous administration of Cs/sup 137/ in doses of 1.0 mu c/g, a decrease in number and atrophy, pyknosis, and necrosis of spermiocytes were noted and the damage increased as tiine passed. A slight impalrment of spermiocytes and sperms was noted even after the administration of only 0.05 mu c/g. After administration of 0.1 mu c/g, no pathological changes were noted in the spleen or kidney, but there were atrophy and pyknosis of the liver cells. DOCA, cortisone, or CsCl given soon after the adminlstration of Cs/ sup 137/ had a protective effect against radiation injuries and diminished the damage to the testes. (Abstr.
