Technetium Dithizonate

In the presence of hydrazine or zinc metal, Tc 99 tracer is extracted into chloroform or carbon tetrachloride Solution of dithizone from 0.1 M nitric acid. On the other hand technetluum is stripped with > 4 Mnitric acid or 0.l M nitric acid containing hydrogen peroxide from the organic solution. Based on these facts, the formation of the dlthizonate is newly confirmed. According to the dependence of the extractability for technetiurn, it is found that two dithizone anions are bound for each technetium cation in technetium dithizonate.
