An electrical vacuum getter pump, which may be used as a vacuum gage, comprises an anode structurc -.urrounding a cathode structure. In operation, a glow discharge is struck between the structures, and a magnetic field is produced in a direction transverse to the electric field, so that the electrons are caused to take a curved trajectory and thus to have a greater probability of ionizing the neutral gas molecules.
