THE EXISTENCE OF A CONTINUOUS TRANSITION BETWEEN THE FLUORINE STRUCTURE AND THE TYPE Tl$sub 2$$O$$sub 3$ STRUCTURE IN THE ZIRCONIUM OXIDE-RARE EARTH OXIDE SYSTEMS (in French)

Journal Article · · Compt. rend.
OSTI ID:4829615
The evolution of the structure of a cubic solid solution was followed as a function of the concentration in rare earth oxides. The systems studied were ZrO/sub 2/--Dy/sub 2/O/sub 3/, and ZrO/sub 2/--Yb/sub 2/O/sub 3/. It is shown that at high temperature a continuous transition between the structure of the fluorine type and the structure of the Ti/sub 2/O/sub 3/ type occurs when the concentration of rare earth oxides is increased.
