Title: DETECTION OF VERY LOW ENERGY ELECTRONS IN A BETA-RAY SPECTROMETER (thesis)

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4828847

Means whereby beta particles at 1 to 20 kev may be detected at the exit pupil of a beta spectrometer are investigated, Results of a literature survey are given and an evaluation of various techniques is included. Experimental work on the use of film windows for use in the G-M detector is reported. It was found that properly supported films as thin as 1,5 mu g/cm/sup -2/ are usable. (J R.D.)
