The status of nuclear power in Great Britain is reviewed. Development and economic problems in the nuclear industry are discussed along with the reactor program. It is noted that the nuclear power program is based on CO/sub 2/ -cooled systems using Mg alloy clad metallic natural U fuel (Magnox). Seven magnox stations are under construction, and two are authorized. Other systems are discussed including the Advanced Gas-Cooled Reactor, the Fast Reactor, and H- moderated systems. (J.R.D.)
