AN ISOMERIC STATE OF Y$sup 9$$sup 0$
An isomeric state of Y/sup 90/ decaying with a half-life of 3.2 plus or minus 0.l hr was obtained in the bombardment of Rb and Y, respectively, with 12- Mev alphas and deuterons of Tandem Van der Graaff accelerator. The observed gamma peaks can be fitted into an energy diagram with levels at 0.202 plus or minus 0.005 and 0.690 plus or minus 0.003 Mev. Consideration of the shell model and existing decay schemes for Y/sup 90/ leads to the assignment of 7/sup +/ for the isomeric state at 0.690 Mev. (auth)
