In order to concentrate the radioactive liquid wastes by evaporation, a perforated plate column is proposed as an eliminator of liquid entrainment in evaporating vapor. Is characteristics for decontamination are studied theoretically and experimentally. Assuming that the misis forming on each stage are completely eliminated at the next stage above, this demister is found to have unprecedented efficiency. When the upward linear velocity in the column is lower than 0.8 m/sec, about 99% of the mists forming on each stage are eliminated at the next stage above.
