The damages occurring after x irradiation to the morphological structure and to the respiration of Paramecium caudatum were investigated. The degree of damage is dependent on the individual dose and on the physiological state of the cells. The principal damage is found in mitochondria and in the cytoplasm. The size of the applied dose was determined with iron and cerium dosimetry. (tr- auth)
