OPTICAL MODEL ANALYSIS OF PROTON-NUCLEUS ELASTIC SCATTERING DATA IN THE ENERGY RANGE 8-17 MeV

A nuclear model consisting oi the Coulomb potential of a uniform spherical charge distribution, plus an optical nuclear potential, is used to analyze proton-nucleus elastic scattering at 8 to 17 Mev. The model fits the data for medium and heavy nuclei better than for light nuclei-. (T.F.H.)
