THE Yb$sup 166$ $Yields$ Tu$sup 166$ $Yields$ Er$sup 166$ DECAY PROCESS (in Russian)

S>The transformation modes of the Yb/sup 166/- Tu/sup 166/ -- Er/sup 166/ chain which were the subject of several previous studies, have been investigated to compare the sequence of the excited states of the even-even deformation of the Er/sup 166/ cleus with predictions of Bohr-Mottelson's collective theory of the nucleus. The electron conversion spectrum was studied on Yb fractions obtained by means of chromatographic separation of rare-earth element mixtures formed upon irradiating a Ta target with 660-Mev protons. It was found that the energy of the gamma -transitions in the Er/sup 166/ nucleus and the corresponding K- conversion lines agree well within the limits of experimental error with previously published data of K. Jacob et al. (Phys. Rev. 117, ll02 (l960)). In the calculation of the rotational levels of Er/sup 166/ for the purpose of comparing them with axial and non-axial data of the nucleus, the adiabatic approximation was used. (TTT)
