FLOW RESISTANCE AND HEAT TRANSFER IN ANNULAR FISSIONS WITH ROUGH NUCLEAR TUBES (in German)

Journal Article · · Kerntechnik (West Germany) Merged with Atomkernenergie to form Atomkernenerg./Kerntech.kyu Hokoku
OSTI ID:4823864
Investigations on the flow resistance and the heat transfer in annular fission tubes were performed whereby the center tube located concentrically within the covering tube was heated electrically. The center tubes used various diameters and smooth or rough surfaces, the roughness consisting of groove-like depressions and ribbed elevations. The tests were performed with water so that the Prandtl number remained constant. The range of the Reynolds number extended from Re = 2 x 10/sup 2/ to 10/sup 5/, which covered both laminar as well as turbulent flow range. The test results were presented in nondimensionaol from.
