ON THE DECAY OF Te$sup 119$m AND Te$sup 11$$sup 9$

Journal Article · · Nuclear Phys.
Radiations from 4.5-day Te/sup 119m/ (11/2-) and 16 hr Te/sup 119/ (1/2 +), produced by 100-Mev proton bombardment of Sb, were investigated by scintillation techniques. The gammarays of 153, 270, (750 plus or minus 20), (920 plus or minus 20), (1000 plus or minus 20), (1100 plus or minus (2100 plus or minus 20) kev, belonging to the decay of Te/sup 119m/, and gamma-rays of (645 plus or minus 10) and (1760 plus or minus 20) kev, associated with the decay of Te/sup 119/, were detected. The summing and coincidence studies show levels at 270, 645, 1220, 1370, Te/sup 119m,/ and Te/sup 119/. A g/sub 7/2 assignment for the 270-kev level, expected from systematics, agrees with the data. Spin and parity assigmnents based on the experimental data are made for different levels. A decay scheme is suggested. (auth)
