DISTORTION EFFECTS IN THE Ca$sup 40$(d,p)Ca$sup 41$ REACTION

A series of calculations was carried out in which the optical-model parameters were varied in the distortedwave Born approximation. The theoretical (d,p) cross section was obtalned as a function of V, W, R, and a for the Ca/sup 40/(d,p)Ca/sup 41/ reaction. Preliminary comments on the stripping from the interior of the nucleus are also made. An attempt is made to obtain best fits to the (d,p) angular distributions from four levels of Ca/sup 41/ at 4.31- and 4.69Mev incident energy. (auth)
