Positive-parity levels in /sup 41/Ca populated in the /sup 40/Ca(d, p)/sup 41/Ca(J/sup +/) reaction

Differential cross sections and vector analyzing powers for the /sup 40/Ca(d, p) reaction are presented as a test of the particle-core coupling model for high-spin positive parity levels at 2.88, 3.20, 3.37, and 3.83 MeV in /sup 41/Ca. The data representations by the coupled-channels Born approximation support the model. In contrast, the distorted-wave Born approximation fails completely to represent the analyzing power data for some levels. (AIP)
