CONTRIBUTION TO THE THEORY OF PLASMA FLUCTUATIONS

ABS>The spectral distributions and correlation functions are derived for various fluctuating quantities (electron and ion densities, electron and ion current densities, electric and magnetic fields, particle distribution functions). The possible difference between the electron and ion temperatures is taken into account. The cross sections for scattering of electromagnetic waves on plasma fluctuations are determined. It is shown that the possibility of propagation of Langmuir oscillations as well as high frequency sound waves (in a nonisothermic plasma) leads to the appearance of satellites in the spectrum of the scattered radiation. In the presence of a constant magnetic field, satellites appear in the scattered radiation spectrum which are due to the possibility of propagation of Langrnuir, Alfven and magnetoacoustic waves in the plasma.
