The authors report measurements of the critical current density in fields up to 20 T as a function of conductor design, composition, and microstructure for Nb{sub 3}Sn bronze-processed wires, internal tin conductors, and superconducting tapes. Their data demonstrate that bronze-processed multifilamentary Nb{sub 3}Sn wires heat-treated in hydrogen at the final stage as well as multilayer Nb{sub 3}Sn tapes with overlayers of the Chevrel phase (SnMo{sub 6}S{sub 8}) are promising materials for high-field applications.
