PLASMOID ROTATION IN A THETA PINCH
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4821527
Ultra-high speed photographic observations were made showing the behavior of theta pinch plasmoids formed by trapping magnetic fields in plasmas. The plasma phenomena in the pinch is analyzed and rotation of the plasmoids is shown to be a mechanism for accelerating ions caught in the plasma ring. (J.R.D.)
