Separation of 98 plus or minus 2% of Np and Pu was achieved using KU-1 and KU-2 cation resins (with >10/sup 3/ separation coefficient) with 0.02 n hydrofluoric acid eluant. The optimum conditions were found for quantitative sorption of Np on KU-1 and KU-2, and coefficients of Np and Pu distribution on KU- 1 were determined as function of hydrofluoric acid concentration.
