SPECTROMETER FOR FAST NEUTRONS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Pribory i Tekh. Ekspt.
OSTI ID:4820397
Descriptions are given of a neutron spectrometer based on the principle of combined amplitudes of two proportional counters recording alpha particles and tritium nuclei produced in Li/sup 6/(n, alpha )T reactions in a thin Li/sup 6/ layer placed between the counter filaments. The spectrometer is highly efficient and is capable of producing spectra of sources with intensities of throughout the l0/sup 5/n/sec; no collimated neutron flux is required. The operating range is 1 to 10 Mev. (tr-auth)
