In addition, tests have been carried out with Eu/sup 152-154/, Se/sup 75/, Sr/sup 90/, etc. Sr/ sup 90/ emits beta particles which can be retarded in materials, such as Pb, U, etc., in order to produce wide energy spectrum x rays having a maximum in the region of 100 kev for x-raying thin-walled samples.
