THE EMISSION OF FISSION PRODUCT RARE GASES FROM UO$sub 2$-BeO AND UO$sub 2$- ThO$sub 2$-BeO SPECIMENS DURING NEUTRON IRRADIATION IN BEPO

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4820299
Emission of fission gases from compacted samples of UO/sub 2/--BeO and UO/sub 2/--ThO/sub 2/--BeO, in which most of the movement occurs in the BeO grains, is very slow. The concentration change is of the order 5 x 10/sup -9/ cm/ sup 3//sec at 1000 deg C. Measurements are reported and analyzed for both in-pile and out-of-pile conditions over the temperature range 200 to 1000 deg C. (auth)
