THE PROBLEM OF THE HYPERFINE INTERACTION OF THE S-ELECTRON WITH THE MAGNETIC MOMENT OF THE DISPLACED NUCLEUS
The spectrum of the hyperfine nucleus structure was calculated (spin 1/ 2, 1. or 3/2), for a nucleus displaced by a certain distance relative to the symmetry center of the S-electron wave function. The problem is solved first for the case when the statistical magnetic fleld H = 0, and the interaction of the nucleus with the electron is considered as a small perturbation. It is shown that the energy corrections, calculated to a relativistic approximation and to the Pauli approximation, coincide. Moreover, the case H = 0 is considered in the Pauli approximation. Therefore, it is assumed that: the splitting in the normal Zeeman effect is considerably less than the splitting caused by the spin-orbit interaction; and the normal Zeeman effect is considerably greater than the distance between the levels of the hyperfine structure. The case is also considered, when the second restriction does not take place. (Referat. Zhur. Fiz., No. 6, l960).
