The radioinduced vulcanization of rubber can be effected with smaller amounts of ionizing radiation by carrying out the vulcanization in the presence of acrylate, diacrylate, or dimethacrylate compounds. The properties of rubber vulcanized in this way are generally superior to those of rubber radio-vulcanized without an additive. (D.L.C.)
