An investigation is described concerning the blast-stress behavior of French underground personnel shelters, equipment and instrumentation. Five reinforced-concrete underground structures were tested including one cast-in- place rectangular structure, one precast circular shelter, two entranceways at about the 116-psi peak overpressure range, and one entranceway at about the 105- psi range. In strumentation is described along with biological tests. De tailed drawings and a discussion of resulting data are included. (J.R.D.)
