Coral Gables, Fla. School of Medicine). Contract DA-49Evaporated milk irradiated at a level of 5.58 megarad and 2.79 megarad was fed to rats for a period of two years. Non-irradiated evaporated milk of similar origin was used as the control. A breeding experiment was carried out in which rats fed irradiated evaporated milk were bred through four generations. Hematological data were collected and complete histopathological studies were made on tissues. No indication was seen of andy toxic effect due to feeding the irradiated food. (C.H.)
