On the basis of the colorimetric determination of silicon by the yellow silicomolybdic acid formatlon or by its reduction to molybdenum blue, three methods for the determination of the silicon in uranium are proposed. Silicon was determined on the solutlon employing the above methods after extraction of the uranyl nitrate by TBP. Finally a direct uranium determination was carried out using ammonium molybdate, dissolving the precipitated uranyI molybdate wlth tartaric acid, and reducing the molybdate to molybdenum blue. (auth)
