A TWENTY-Mc/s TRANSISTOR DECADE SCALER

Journal Article · · Nuclear Instr. & Methods
A transistor decade scaler that operates reliably at 20 Mc/s is described. The scaler has binary-coded decimal outputs isolated from its feed- back path. The circuit does not require close-tolerance components and it operates on negative pulses 0.7 to 3.5 v in amplitude. The carry delay through the decade is approximately 25 ns. A simple transistor pulse generator is also built and operates at repetition rates from l to 40 Mc/s; either a continuous train of pulses or bursts of pulses may be produced. The pulse width may be varied from 20 ns to one half the period of the oscillation. The generator produces both positive and negative pulses with a maximum amplitude of 2.5 v into 100 OMEGA . (auth)
