THE ANALYSIS OF NIOBIUM AND NIOBIUM ALLOYS

Methods are briefly outlined for the determination of carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, chromium, iron, molybdenum, nickel, silicon, titanium, tungsten, and zirconium in niobium and its alloys. In many respects, analytical procedures suitable for these determinations are almost identical with those applied to comparable titanium and zirconium products, although niobium-bearing samples are more difficult to dissolve and alternative solvents are often used. Over the past few years the recommended procedures were used successfully for the analysis of a variety of samples. (auth)
