Intake of Iodine-131 from Milk in Italy During the Period October–December 1961

Determinations of I¹³¹ concentrations were carried out in Oct. to Dec. 1961 on milk distributed to 13 cities representing 1/5 of the entire Italian population. The averaged results are presented for 3-day intervals; a peak was found at about the middle of Nov. following a rainy period. An integral of the daily I¹³¹ intake was drawn for a person fed with 1 liter of milk daily, and the total 3-month I¹³¹ intake per person is 8,600 pc. (D.L.C.)
