ON THE PROBLEM OF CHRONIC RADIATION BURDEN. FURTHER RESULTS FROM IRRADIATION OF MICE WITH FRACTIONAL RADIATION DOSES (in German)

Journal Article · · Strahlentherapie (West Germany)
OSTI ID:4816844
Mice, 500 female and 50 male, were irradiated daily with 2.5 r. After receiving different total dosages copulation occurred. Fertility, postnatal and infant mortality, sex ratio, and deformity rate were investigated in the descendents of the irnadiated animals. An increased postnatal mortality was found, but mortality, size, and number of newborns were normal. A change in the sex ratio was not found up to the third generation. The frequency of the deformities was greater in the F/sub 1/-generation than in the following generations. (auth)
