HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP IN ECCENTRIC ANNULI

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4816698

Experiments are described in which heat transfer and pressure drop measurements were made for water flowing in eccentric annuli. The heat transfer experiments were performed in an annulus having a radius ratio of 1.5 at eccentricities up to 92%. Surface temperatures were measured at chosen points along the annulus axis and around the annulus circumference. Detailed measurements are presented in tabular form and selected data are illustrated graphically. A method is presented for correlating and predicting heat transfer coefficients and temperature distributions in the annulus studied. (auth)
