Purified ethylene oxide was irradiated with acrylonitrile in a vacuum (<10/sup -4/ mm) with Co/sup 60/ gamma irradiation. Analysis showed the copolymerization yield obtained was a function of the monomer composition with respect to the temperature. It was concluded that the ethylene oxide content in the copolymer increased with decreasing irradiation temperature and acrylonitrile content in the monomer mixture. (OlD)
