OBSERVATION OF QUANTUM PERIODICITY IN THE TRANSITION TEMPERATURE OF A SUPERCONDUCTING CYLINDER

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. Letters
Quantum periodicity in the transition temperature was observed in a thin cylinder of tin. A clearly defined series of parabolic variations of the transition temperature was noted as the magnetic field was changed. The parabolas were regularly spaced at intervals of hc/2e in the magnetic flux, agreeing with data on quantized flux (B. S. Deaver and W. M. Fairbank, Phys. Rev. Letters, 7; 43 (1961); R. Doll and M.
