Advanced stimulation technology deployment program, Snyder Oil Corporation, Lance Formation, Jonah Field, Sublette County, Wyoming. Topical report, September 1995--August 1996
The scope of the project was to identify and discuss with Snyder`s management and engineering personnel the advantages of using specific AST methods and to train the personnel in using these methods. The comprehensive program initially covered seminars/training sessions on fracture propagation theories, then actual field application of fracturing presssure analysis and evaluation. An integrated completion strategy was created and implemented to (1) complete more pay intervals with pseudo-point source perforated, multiple-staged treatments; (2) modify the borate fluid chemistry to address complicated fracture geometry and improve far-field proppant placement; (3) reduce multiple fracture initiation; and (4) eliminate screen-out problems.
