INITIAL BREAKDOWN OF GASES IN ELECTRODELESS DISCHARGES. Final Report

Theoretical studies on the initial breakdown phenomena in a long cylindrical column of slightly preionized gas that is subjected to a strong, fast-rising axial magnetic field are discussed, as are corresponding experimental observations on cylindrical and toroidal configurations.
