AN 11-COUNTER DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE $gamma$$gamma$-ANGULAR CORRELATION (in Russian)
Determination of the gamma gamma -angular correlation is useful for obtainlng information about the spin of excited nuclei and multipolarity of radiations. Its dependence on extranuclear fields makes possible the measurement of the magnitude and the sign of the gyromagnetic ratio. Measurements were undertaken with a multichannel devce which is suitable when the radiation of the cascades is isotropic or when it presents an axial symmetry; it had a higher effectiveness than the usual 2-counter, slngle-channel analyzer and made it possible to work wwith short-llfe isotopes and with weak sources. The system included a matrix with a 2-channel fast-slow coincidence scheme for the amplitude selector, a simultaneous stabilization and adjustment unlt, and a triggering control mechanism. For testing the system, a Sc/sup 46/ (892-1118 kev cascade) and a Na/sup 22/ (511-kev annihilation quanta- 1270-kev transition) source were used. (TTT)
