of Precipitation of Ce III with thorium oxalate was studied using Ce/sup 144/ as tracer. Cerium diffuses into the thorium oxalate crystals during crystallization aofdd into previously formed crystals. The crystals formed during thorium oxalate precipitation in the presence of Ce captures equilibrium quantities of thorium. lt is shown that precipitations of Ce/sup 144/ and Th/sup 234/ have different characters related to their equilibrium.
