Investigations of thermolumlnescence in each colorcenter formation stage and of the correlation between the thermoluminescence and thermal bleaching of color center were made. Harshaw KCl was gamma irradiated in a Co60 cave at room temperature. As the irradiation came into the second stage, the lusminescence due to the first stage F center gradualIy diminished, and that of the second stage F center became dominant. At above 2 x 107 r, where the relative amount of the first stage F center was below 10%, the lower temperature peak shifted considerably to higher temperatures as the dosage increased. The plastic deformation prior to irradiation caused remarkable changes in glow curves.
