DETERMINATION OF ETHYLENEDIAMINETETRA-ACETIC ACID AND RARE EARTHS WHEN THEY ARE PRESENT TOGETHER (in Russian)

A simple and rapid volumetric method is suggested for the successive determination of EDTA and rare earths in the same sample of solution. The total concentration of EDTA is determined by titration with iron (III) chloride at pH about 2 and at the temperature 60--70 deg (sulfosalicylic acid is used as an indicator) followed by the titration (at pH about 6 with an urotropine buffer solution) of the rare earth ions with complexone III using xylenol orange as an indicator.
